Knoppix is based on Debian, so I believe Synaptic ships with it. In fact installing Knoppix on a hdd is a good way to get a Debian installation. After that it's a case of hooking up to the net, adding some repositories and installing whatever you want.

unclebubbles Just Joined! Join Date: Feb 2006 Posts: 68	The default package manager for Knoppix 4 is kpackgage, located in the system folder. Knoppix 5 has both. This is for the cd version, the dvd version may have both, it has alot more packages in it.

Join Date: Sep 2006 Posts: 6	The easiest way to to install aMSN on knoppix is to download the debian file, http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/a...386.stable.deb Then, open shell and type: Code: su dpkg -i "" Where "" is the directory where you downloaded aMSN. (if you just saved it, it would be under /home/knoppix/amsn_0.96rc1-1.i386.stable.deb) That's it!
