Saving data when rebooted

I am running knoppix now (Had to switch from DSL) And am enjoying it. But is there any way to keep the data after re-booting? Sometimes it freezes up and my background is reset, my files are gone, ect. I tried "Save Knoppix Data" But i got an error saying "Could not access partition". Can anyone help me keep my data?

hey
Two ways of saving data, however, you must search and learn how to partition your HDD for linux. You can make either a FAT or Linux partition.
Once you've done that you can either save your data directly to your new partition or use persistant home to configure Knoppix to the Hdd and save anywhere on Knoppix.
BTW, in addition to data you can add another partition for a swap file.
hope this helps

You can also use a flash memory to save your data ...
Try a google search
