Knoppix 4.0 won't see USB key!

Running the live disc, booting with the key inserted (all ports nogo), and I can't figure out how to get the thing discovered or how to mount via console. Any ideas? Commands I should be using?

Try to mount it like this

mkdir -p /media/usbkey
mount /dev/sda1 /media/usbkey
ls /media/usbkey

Everything should be accessible from /media/usbkey

Well, did it work? I mean, it should have, but sometimes other newbies like to see success stories.

It Worked!!!
I prefaced each command with "sudo", and it reads the USB key GREAT! Thanks! Next up is putting my own settings for Knoppix on the USB so I can save things to it.
