can't access the internet(wireless)

allenfoballen Just Joined! Join Date: Apr 2007 Posts: 4	can't access the internet(wireless) I have a laptop and have Knoppix running, but i can't access the internet(wireless). It says my wireless is disbled. Any help?

Did you try using the command

Code:

sudo wlcardconfig

What kind of card is it? USB?PCI?
If it's a pci card you need to issue this command to identify the chipset

Code:

lspci

If it's a USB, you probably need to install usbutils

Code:

sudo apt-get install usbutils

I think the command for USB would be

lsusb

I don't think you need to download ndiswrapper or madwifi because it's included with Knoppix.
