This is a PCI modem? Chances are it is a "Winmodem," that is, a modem that has to have the Windows operating system to run. Have you tried configuring it with kppp which is in your menu? If not, try configuring there as /dev/modem and see what happens. If you can't get anywhere, we'll need to see what exactly you have chipset wise. The way we do that is to open a terminal... konsole will do and do:
and press enter. Find the line that pertains to your modem, write it down just as it appears and post it here.Code:lspci
