Wireless USB problem in Knoppix 5.1.1 CD

After some messing around, trying to get my USB NIC (Linksys WUSB54G v4) to work, I've arrived at a problem.

Using iwconfig, ifconfig, etc. I can turn the card on (with ifconfig wlan0 up), but I can't seem to associate with my access point (a WRT150N Linksys WLAN router)

I've set ESSID, my WEP (64-bit) key, my Link mode (Managed), and have attempted to input my router's MAC address in the Access Point field to no avail. I'm officially "stumped."

Can anyone help me here?
