Can you use Knoppix without installing anything?
I currently have a Windows XP system used by every one in my family. Can you run Knoppix safely without damaging XP, without installing anything on the computer? And if you must install any files, will it work fine if the files are on a connected USB flash drive?
Thank you!

Welcome to the forums, Azalea!
Just don't expect it to run as fast as it would if it were installed to the hard drive.oz

Yes, you can run it without having to install anything. It's how I got one of my early tastes of Linux. Well, that and other LiveCD's. But, as ozar says, it won't run as fast as a true install. If you have enough system memory, you could run it from RAM with the 'toram' option during boot time. This will also free up your disk drive for other uses.
