New to Knoppix
I have an older Dell pentium III laptop and I can only use either the CD Drive thats in it or the floppy but I have to remove one to use the other. I want to add a USB optical drive so that I can leave the floppy drive in the latop all the time. how do I get Knoppix to recognize the new hardware?

Hi and Welcome !
You dont have to do anything special for USB Optical drive. Just plug-in it and knoppix will recognize it.It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.
