[SOLVED] Some Questions Before installing Knoppix
Hi all
I download Knoppix 6.0 for my friend computer (( old computer ))
but I discovered that It is just for booting form CD rom but I want to Install it in
his HD can I do it with the live cd
also how much size required for the root ((his computer HD 6 GB
))
Is he need boot partition ??
I do not know but I will do like this & someone tell me if i right
1- root will be 3 GB
2- swap is 500 mb
3- the rest for his personal flies ((home))
& the last question
how to run the installer & is it graphical ??

Hard disk installation of Knoppix is not recommended by Knoppix Dev Team. I would suggest you to install any Linux distro meant for Hard disk installation.
You can install every single package, available in Knoppix, in any Linux distro.It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.

I'm not sure why this thread went dead. You might want to check out Xubuntu for an older machine

There are a lot of distros available for Old machines. Check this Poll.
It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.
