Using USB with 6.0, Saving Data?
Hi,
I am brand new to the forum, but I didn't find my problem when I reviewed the existing posts, so here it is:
I am using Knoppix 6.0 on a USB (8 BG). It works just fine, but there is a screen on boot up, which allows me to save space (I presume on the USB) to save data to before I shut down. This screen does not pause for an answer, but the bootup continues. When I am fast enough to enter the amount of space I want, there is no result anywhere as far as I can see.
How do I save data when using a USB bootup?

Welcome to the forums!
Take a look at this HowTo to see if this is what you are wanting to do:
KNOPPIX Persistent – Saving settings to USB | USB Pen Drive Linux
Hope it works!oz

Hi oz,
Thanks for the tip, but it seems not to be applicable. The reference is to Knoppix 5.3.1. The menus do not match ver 6.0. The aim seems to be to make a /home directory on the USB stick. I tried it using gparted on another computer, but that (as I expected) did not work. There must be an answer somewhere!
