Which version of Knoppix are you using? Are you using LiveCD or its a Hard disk install?
If you are using Firefox then rename .mozilla folder in your /home/user_id folder.
Close Firefox and execute this
Code:cd mv .mozilla .mozilla.bak
It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.

if this is a live environment, how much ram does your machine have?
flash is quite resource hungry.
