    Question about hash for 6.2 dvd

    I downloaded this file:-

    KNOPPIX_V2.6DVD-2009-11-18-EN.iso

    When I ran MD5sum I got:-

    254Ccc6098dc3adc261de94c44533ee6 but I haven't found anywhere that I can verify if this is correct.

    I would appreciate it if you have a suggestion.

    I don't believe that it is an MD5 sum. I would use an SHA* decoder(s) instead.

    that is an md5sum, and it appears to match the one in the link ozar provided

    Cool

    MD5sum has lest number of bits in its hash - Better to use SHA1sum which has many more hash bits and thus more correctly will not have a sum that identifies other matching sums.

    I only use sha1sum now, rather than md5sum-ing.
