    Downloads: Burn CD?


    I have an external cd/dvd writer. The live cd is in the computer cd rom.

    Can I save downloads to a cd? How?

    When you are running a live cd and you download files, they are saved in memory. You obviously can't save files onto the cd, so a usb stick maybe required if you want to save the files permanently.

    you could also try to create a persistent live USB of knoppix as well

    Another question from a dummy...how do I use the usb to save files.

    I cannot seem to find it....peripherals show and unknown i tired to 'add' mounted and unmounted device...

    knoppix 5.1 came out in 2006, i suggest you use 6.2 which is latest version and came out in 2009, you will likely have less hardware issues
