    Knoppix 5.1 and Write Access

Trying to save an XP installation with a Knoppix Boot CD

It is a RAID setup and Knoppix has successfully read the disks. (unlike Puppy)

I need to paste some new Registry files into the System32/config folder, but I get the message "Could not write to /media....."

    Any help appreciated

Hello and welcome to the forums!

You'll need to mount the partition that you want to write to. If you have an icon on the desktop representing that partition, right-click it and see if it gives you a mount option. After you've copied the files to the proper location, be sure to unmount the partition by right-clicking the icon again and choosing the unmount option.

I've not used Knoppix in many years, but I believe the above should work. If it doesn't, post back and maybe someone that's used Knoppix more recently will reply.
