    Problem booting from USB

    I installed Knoppix 6.2.1 on to my flash drive and it booted properly, but I had to stop the process of creating space to store settings by shutting down the computer. Does someone know how to restart this process?

    Hi and Welcome !

    Is it booting fine? Post the output of fdisk -l command here.
    It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.

    Yes, it boots fine. It just doesn't save any of my settings and changes.

    here is the output:
    Disk /dev/sda: 500.1 GB, 500107862016 bytes
    255 heads, 63 sectors/track, 60801 cylinders
    Units = cylinders of 16065 * 512 = 8225280 bytes
    Disk identifier: 0xd3d22b2d

    Device Boot Start End Blocks Id System
    /dev/sda1 1 1828 14680064 27 Unknown
    /dev/sda2 * 1828 60802 473704448 7 HPFS/NTFS

    Disk /dev/sdb: 16.2 GB, 16173236224 bytes
    64 heads, 32 sectors/track, 15424 cylinders
    Units = cylinders of 2048 * 512 = 1048576 bytes
    Disk identifier: 0xb0bcd68e

    This doesn't look like a partition table
    Probably you selected the wrong device.

    Device Boot Start End Blocks Id System
    /dev/sdb1 ? 1573910 1694359 123339962 78 Unknown
    Partition 1 does not end on cylinder boundary.
    /dev/sdb2 ? 211363 590115 387841909+ 10 OPUS
    Partition 2 does not end on cylinder boundary.
    /dev/sdb3 ? 912873 1849997 959615034 8b Unknown
    Partition 3 does not end on cylinder boundary.
    /dev/sdb4 ? 1251073 1255137 4161608 a OS/2 Boot Manager
    Partition 4 does not end on cylinder boundary.

    Partition table entries are not in disk order
