    If you are running Knoppix from a liveCD the way it was intended to be used, you'd need to remaster the ISO file to include mysql:

    If you've installed Knoppix to the hard disk, I'd recommend that you consider trying another distro because you will eventually run into issues with packages and upgrades. In the interim, you might be able to install mysql with apt if mysql resides in your repositories:
