Knoppix: LiveCD vs Hard Disk Install?
If requesting help with Knoppix, it is important to let other users know right up front whether you are running your Knoppix system from the liveCD as it was intended to be used, or if you've installed it to a hard drive, and are running it from that. The answers given for help requests will often depend on the method in which you are running your system.
Also, please keep in mind that according to their own wiki page, Knoppix is designed and intended to be run from a liveCD, even though it is sometimes installed to hard drives:
