Knoppix on laptop - trackpointer not working
I recently got a laptop (yesterday) from a friend. It's an old Compaq Armada and needs a new harddrive, so for now I'm just going to run Knoppix on it. The problem is that when I boot up KDE, my little eraser-head mouse/tracker doesn't seem to work.
Does anyone know how I can fix this? I've tried xf86config with no luck

I had the same problem as this with Compaq Armada M700. I didn't resolve it but kanotix works and so does Luit linux (both run from cd rom).

I had it working by using the newer kernel in Knoppix 3.7
(entered "knoppix26" at "boot:" prompt.)
