    booting knoppix on laptop

have knoppix 3.7, put it into a CD drive to boot up.
Checks firewire, drives etc. GEts to CD and just hangs. Won't boot.

I also read here in the forum about "installing" knoppix. I thought this was supposed to be one I could simply run from CD and didn't need to install anything?
also do I need to have a ext2 or ext3 partition for this to even work?
My laptop is using Win2000 PRO and I've got partition magic to install Fedora, but wanted to play with knoppix.
    any help would be appreciated.

    Re: booting knoppix on laptop

Try hitting f2 or f3 at the start and type knoppix26. My old Compaq wouldn't boot and find things without doing this. It's a Presario 731 and it likes the live CD just fine. Except for the touchy touchpad. I added a wheelmouse to the mix. That is a touchpad issue however.
