Hope someone will be able to help me out with these ''minor'' problems...

I just recently switched to Knoppix and I already have several issues.

1) I have problems configuring my ADSL internet connection. I've managed to install everything and use KPPP to dial, butit only initializes and refuses to connect. I have a Siemens ADSL C-010-I over an ethernet connection.
How can I access the internet?

2)Is there a way of altering files on NTFS partitions from Knoppix without damaging the data?

EDIT: The Knoppix is installed on the HD.
