Changing The Computer Name ((HELP))

I need to have a direct connection with Knoppix and i have the provider @home wich uses a CP adress wich you need to place as the computername for you to be able to connect with internet so how do you change the computername with Knoppix, i hope to see a reply soon

If you mean the network hostname, you can just use the 'hostname' command. I'm sure Knoppix has it in a config file somewhere too - possibly /etc/sysconfig/network... You can manually set the hostname using the following on the command line or via a shell script:
