XMMS Player no go
I have one regular CD player and one CD R-W that show on the desktop as cd-rom and cd-rom1. One player is used for Knoppix and the second one I want to use to play CD's.
I execute XMMS player and the CD doesn't load in the player. But when I check preferences and configure to check the drive it shows the cd-rom1 is ok and the disc has 8 tracks and the directory is ok.
I have switched drives to load Knoppix and it makes no difference in how this works.
Anyone have a thought on how to conncet XMMS to play?

Try using the command-line utility cdp:
Code:cdp
