X-DSL is the XBOX adaptation of DSL. (i dont know how well known it is). The knoppix folder is located on E:, and it recigonizes the E: drive as CD rom. XBOX harddrives are partitioned. i need to know how to mount the other partitions, save!(it shows downloads complete, but on reboot the new files disapear/firefox settins ect)<the backup option dosent work!> and if possible increase the general font size(though im sure this is a question i should i should post to fluxbox)

im trying to learn linux, but am having a very hard time scince every time i reboot everything is reset.

You are using a Knoppix livecd right?
f so, look through the K menu for "Saving knoppix Configuration"

its installed directly onto the E: drive.

So you are not working from the cdrom, but the hard drive.

What is the output of

fdisk -l

Which partitions do you want to mount?

yes i am working from the HDD.

i wish to mount the F: drive. i believe that it is not recognized as f, but instead hdb# or something like that.

fdisk -l ? (thats a L right?) i will give it a try.

fdisk -l will show all of your partitions. Yes it is a small L

fdisk -l tells me about the E: drive ( 'cdrom' :o )

it then proceeds to tell me that it cant read my partition table:

' disk /dev/hda dosent contain a valid partition table '

keep in mind this is an xbox. ill try and find out what the partitions are known as. i known ive seen them before. many times. kinda funny that i cant remember.

The first partition on the first hard drive is hda1.
the a signifies which hard drive it is.
The 1 signifies which partition it is.

hda will be the primary master.
hdb will be the secondary master

hdc will most likely be the cdrom drive.
