I used Knoppix last year and during the boot you can select english.

your downloading from a .de mirror, since knoppix was started by a native german speaker, it has ISO's in german and english, look for one of their english mirrors
or perhaps the easiest way is a torrent available here

Since you need English language settings (for the OS and keyboard) use "knoppix lang=us". "=" is shift+0 in this case, as grub defaults to german keyboard settings.

Linux Central has it for a reasonable price. It might save some time.

I got the 4.0 dvd and I hate to be cynical but I'm just not that impressed. If you're gonna put all the frills on the DVD including every application ever invented, a splashscreen wouldn't be a bad idea! Plus given that the default boot is into KDE I would have recommended an SVG wallpaper. The driving scene looks terrible when scaled, and anti-aliasing doesn't seem to be in place. I'm a big Knoppix fan. I'm glad he went DVD, but it just seems that most of the new packages are a bit trivial with not enough polish on the desktop side.
Almost seems like any other Knoppix, only with a 4 GB download. The change to Plastik was welcome though on the windec side. I'm on it now.. I'll give it a little more time to settle. I'm impressed with Blender being on there but I'll have to dig out some more positive points.
