    USR modem

    In my quest to get a modem that works with linux i bought a USR 56k v.90 faxmodem. It uses a parallel printer port cable to connect to the computer. Unfortunately, wvdial does not seem to want to recognize it.

    I read that these modems usually work through the serial port. Should I get an adapter to change the parallel into serial? Or can I do this without that?

    Oh yeah, the model number is 0701.

    Nevermind, bought me a parallel to serial cable and the modem works perfect!
