Sharing internet through samba?
Okay here is the scenario. I have one linux box running off of just knoppix and no harddrive. It is running a samba server. I have a windows machine that is running a 56K internet connection and is networked with the linux box. Is there a way that I can share internet from my windows machine to my linux box?
Not really important, but it sounds like a cool project.

Samba is for file sharing only and to some extent can provide print sharing for windows clients.
If you are running XP or 2K, just enable ICS on it and it should work. Tell the linux box that gateway is the IP address of the windows machine and you should be fine.
Note, I haven't tried this....Life is complex, it has a real part and an imaginary part.
