    help

    Please help me out. I recently installed ubuntu and knoppix to my HD the only problem is that there is no internet action. I click on the globe to launch browsr, it go to the ubuntu home page, then I type a url in the address bar the reply is cannot open page ,check your spelling and try again. In conclusion I am a real linux newbie,any assistance would be a great help. Thanks! ( I am currently online using the knoppix live disc.)

    Firstly, how do you connect to the internet? And can you post back the results of these commands:
    Code:
    ifconfig
route
ping -c 4 www.google.com
    In Ubuntu, you may have to add sudo to the begining of each command.
