    Brightness/Contrast

    Hello!
My monitor is really dark - it's 6 years old, and I want to ask you if you know any way to adjust the brightness and contrast in Knoppix 4?
    Thanks in advance!

I'm not sure, but you might be able to adjust the gamma settings in KDE Control Center.

I think I have checked all the options for the display. There are only settings for resolution, the screen refresh rate... But I don't remember gamma settings .
    Am I missing something?

It's been quite a while since I've used KDE, but I thought gamma control settings were available from the Control Center. Maybe a current KDE user can verify one way or the other.

I'm assuming you've already tried adjusting the controls built into the monitor itself?

Here's an article about monitor calibration under X that might offer some help:

    The xgamma is not working...
I writted this: xgamma -gamma 2
    I tried with 3, 4, but no result .
Maybe this command is only included in Knoppix for a demo?
