    Hi,

I'm new to Knoppix and i have a problem. I have torrented the .iso and all of that and burnt it as an image to a DVD. When I try to boot it up, it stops in the middle. It stops when it is trying to start up some config. I am using a laptop as well. I could get any help from anyone, it would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Al

You need to post the exact error msg, so we can see what's not working.
What is the last thing you see when the boot fails?

There is no error message, but it freezes at starting cardmgr. Anything to help me out would be good.

    Thanks

You could try using some kernel options at the boot screen.
    From the Knoppix Wiki
noapic noagp noapm nodma nomce nofirewire nopcmcia noscsi noswap nousb nosmp noaudio
Skip parts of Hardware-detection, In case of a failing hardware autodetection, try booting with any of the "no-" options as shown in the table above, like in knoppix noagp noapm noapic nodma nopcmcia noscsi nousb to skip some critical parts of the autodetection system. The "noswap" option is useful for a forensic analysis without touching existing swap partitions.

I'd try using the nopcmcia first.
