Exchange replacement
Hi,
Just installed KNOPPIX on my USB key, persistent mode.
Youuuuuuuuuppppiiii!!!!
I was just wondering if there's an equivalent to Microsoft Exchange (Outlook). See I want to be able to use a KNOPPIX tool to download, read and sent Email through our Exchange server at the office.
I really want to step away from Microsoft products Smile
Thanks,
Marc.

I believe you can use the Evolution mail client to support Exchange. There are other decent clients like Kmail and Mozilla Thunderbird but I'm not sure about Exchange support for them.

I don't know about Knoppix but in the distros I've used, Evolution doesn't support Exchange right out of the box. You have to install the Exchange plugin. I think it used to be called evolution-exchange but I noticed in Fedora 7, they had it named evolution-connector. See if you can't find one of those.

Knoppix is based on Debian so it uses apt-get as its package manager. I'm not sure what packages are available in the repositories but try executing
as root. Or it might already be installed on your system, if so just runCode:apt-get install evolution evolution-connector
Code:evolution
