Okay Pablo, I got it. But the resolution part, sadly I can't use any other drivers. By default the Xorg loaded ati drivers, all I got was the black screen and so switched to "vesa" after being taught by a friend.

Well, I've switched to smaller taskbar icons, disabled the sound system (If I enable it I can't play my mp3s) and enable root login for a GUI login rather than console. I guess, that's all for now. Thanks for the help
