A little over a year ago, I installed Knoppix on one of my PCs using knoppix-installer and then converted it to Debian Testing. It worked great while I was using it but I eventually re-installed with Debian Testing from a true Debian installation DVD. The reason for this was I wanted to run Debian but some of my harware was not being recognized. Knoppix recognized my harware and then migrated my settings and configuration to the Knoppix "Debian" installation. I had spent weeks and maybe months trying to get some of my hardware to work and this method worked - for me.
