    Angry DNS Server settings in Alter Internet Settings

    Can anyone help me? I installed pclinuxos on my dell b130 laptop and it runs great. I do have one problem though. Really more of an annoyance. For some reason anytime I shut down and reboot which is quite often, it puts my home ip address in the optional DNS server that is located in the Alter Misc. internet settings. This makes firefox really slow because it tries to access my home address for DNS. I can take it out but as soon as I reboot it puts it back in there. Has anyone had this problem? Thanks for any help!

    These settings are for Opendns, which is working great for me, but it should work for any DNS. It is also for Ubuntu, so good luck.

    $ sudo cp /etc/resolv.conf /etc/
    $ sudo gedit /etc/dhcp3/dhclient.conf
    # append the following line to the document
    prepend domain-name-servers,;
    # save and exit
    $ sudo ifdown eth0 && sudo ifup eth0
