returning fron sleep

frequently i use my Dell b130 to do simple short work on the console (default runlevel 3). when i close the lid and reopen it the screen does not return! I have tryed switching ttys, hiting the (Fn + CRT/LCD) key, the only thing that works other than runlevel 6 is hibernating.

Please, is there something in some config file of powersaved or something?

I had the same thing with my Toshiba Techra Laptop.
And, well I had to fix it by Bashing the Buttom that the Screen pushed when I close it. (You cant see it with all the Laptops) and well after pressing it really quickly after eachother I did resurrect my laptop. It also worked when I just did remove it. Held it for a long time and then release it. But, well this is kinda a pain. But it is a temp solution for your problem

for X server: xset dpms force on

for VT: vbetool dpms on #this is the video bios tool

I knew it had to be simple.
