"No package" message in rpm package
I downloaded Oracle application. i have Fedora 8 installed and when I try to install it using yum. I get a "No package " message. It also happened when i tried to install a .rpm wine application and I had to download a .tar. What does it mean

u dont use yum to install manually downloaded applications.
did you do
rpm -ivh <package>
??

No packages

It is a yum installable package and I dont know the other way of installing i.e it i it is a .rpm

Have you installed necessary Repositories?
