    Welcome to the forums!

    I think there are some laptops that come with Linux pre-installed. One of those units should run great under Linux and should come with some support from the manufacturer.

    You can look at the ASUS Eee PC 900 16G as an example.

    Otherwise, I think most any laptop should be fully capable of running Linux unless it is one that has hardware so new that it's not covered by the current Linux kernel.
