linux on Toshiba Satellite U405-s2856

Has anybody managed to install (and have work properly) a(ny) Linux distribution on a Toshiba Satellite U405-s2856 laptop?
I didn't find anything at Linux on Toshiba Laptops & Notebooks so my buying decision hangs on your answers .

I had a Toshiba U405-S2856, I have tried Ubuntu 8.04 and Debian 4.0 and i can not install neither.
I try Ubuntu 8.10 and install very well and i got almost everything working.

The main problem is sound. If I try standard Alsa, (v1.17) the mic is not working. I try ALSA 1.18 and 1.19 eith the same results.
I also try with OSS (https://help.ubuntu.com/community/OpenSound) and the mic work with skype, but sound not work in flash player,etc.

Bluethoot work with Omnibook module.
FM radio dont work at all.

The other devices work just fine. The battery life is about 4:50.
I will try Debian 5.0 soon.
