Hanging after Power down...
Hi...
Can anyone advise me on how to stop my Laptop (Packard Bell M5 series) hanging after "halt".. I am using Mandrake 10 community.. this is the first time i have ever been stuck where a laptop and Linux are concerned...
the last line of text is " powerdown ...............(ok)"
the only way i can switch off totally is with the power off button on the laptop... ctrl + alt +del, just reboots
oh and I no longer have windows of any description on the system as i used to have to boot into windows and then shut down through windows..
thanks for your time

I have this problem with my desktop. THe solution was to change the ACPI option in lilo.conf to ACPI=force. If you use ACPI rather then APM, this shouldn't be a problem, however I don't know how it would affect APM if you use that instead.
