acer one notebook is driving me nuts lol

i have a acer one notebook with linux (god i hate linux lol) it has worked well since christmas day, wireless internet and everything cool, then night before last it went the internet and the little symbol thats usually down the bottom sayin ur connected gone, i tried clicking on the network setting icon and it wont even let me open that but can open everything else, its drivin me nuts. comet where i got it from told me to put the recovery cd onto a data stick and load it back on the netbook which i tried still no joy. Please help or my netbook is due to be dropped kicked out of the window (only kidding just frustrated lol) give me windows anyday which me other 3 computers are
