    Welcome to the forums!

Check the link in my signature for lots of good information on getting started with Linux.

You can get some quick and easy lessons for using the command line under Linux here:

LinuxCommand.org: Learn the Linux command line. Write shell scripts.

You might be able to determine what your distribution is by running the following command:

    Code:
    cat /etc/*-release
I'd also recommend checking your computer maker's website for additional information about your computer and exact model.

Hope you have fun with Linux.

According to Wikipedia the Eee PC has Xandros or Windoze XP.

I believe it also comes with Linpus, is that right or am I thinking of another Netbook?

The Acer Aspire One comes with Linpus. Although a shop near me has claimed to sell the Eee PC with Linpus (after a quick look it turned out to be Linpus by the way).
