    Acer Aspire , cant install Evolution email


    I am having difficulty installing evolution email, I am getting dependency errors with tweaked acer files being the problem. can I force the install anyway? Thanks

    Look in the directory /usr/share/applications, and see if you find a file for it there. This is generally the directory that populates your menu. According to the macles post for installing f-spot, it looks like the general method for adding a launcher to the desktop is this:

    dca add 12 "file='/usr/share/applications/evolution.desktop'"
    Most distros give you a run dialogue with alt+F2, as well, where you could run it by typing "evolution". Not sure if the aspire one has that feature. Or you can open a terminal and type "evolution" to run it.
