any distro using xfce would work for that laptop, as for war3, its doubtful that it would run very well, these are recommended specs for it:
600 MHz processor, 256 MB of RAM, 32 MB 3D video card, DirectX 8.1 compatible sound card (Windows)

I just realized that Linux Mint Fluxbox will run on 128 MB ram, so my vote goes to try that out.

Oh, missed that. In that case 256MB of RAM might well be enough. Not sure on the video card though.

- 04-24-2009 #10Sorry you feel that way as Anti runs Icewm and Fluxbox and is based on Debian Lennyand Mepis with Synaptic Package manger . Flux box Mint (which I also run) is about the same as Antix but based on Ubuntu and Mint.i have download antix like you suggest and its how do i describe it ....crap
You could try Zenwalk with your specs (Slackwarebased) uses XFCE desktop and a Package manager also. With your specs KDE or Gnome desktops would struggle a little .
Xubuntu might be the ticket for ya
Edit
Fast and good and easy Desktop , I don't know dudework fast and good my 256 ram pentuim 2 363mhzLinux Registered User # 475019
