I have Mint 5 XFCE running on similar hardware. I also have AntiX 8 base on another partition. Mint is the everything just works distro. AntiX base is minimal and you add what you want. Both are .deb based, so lots of choices of software.

I run Anti8 And Mint Fluxbox 6 RC1 dual boot also and I gotta agree with Hal343.
Everything works real well. And quick also. Edit: it is a IBM T23 Laptop.Linux Registered User # 475019
