booting external cdrom drive
My laptop's internal cdrom drive died and I'm trying to use an external cdrom drive connected through a pcmcia card. Is there a 3.5" floppy boot disk that could boot the linux install CDs on the external drive?

I don't know about other distros, but Red Hat has an images folder in the first CD and in the dosutils folder is a program called rawrite.exe. run rawrite, insert a 3.5 floppy, and type D:/images/pcmcia.img (where D: is your CD drive). that should boot to your drive.
