installing linux through parallel?
Is it possible to boot from a floppy and install linux through a crossover parallel cable? Say I boot the floppy from my laptop and connet to my tower where the mandrake 9.1 install disk is the CDrom drive.

Maybe -- but it would be a pain in the butt to setup. You need plip.

Not sure if it's available when you're installing though. Best thing would be to setup FTP/HTTP or NFS on your Tower and use a network install. Faster too. If you don't have a network card on your laptop, then maybe it's worth taking a look at plip support in the setup kernel.
