HP Xh485 w/ AMD - getting it to work

This laptop is problematic to get working with Linux. I finally found the GRUB boot parameters to get it working fully.

Before, it wouldnt shut off after halting, and the sound would echo endlessly.

I found in my research that HPs of that era had odd BIOSs.
I played with it for a while and found that adding:

noacpi pci=usepirqmask

to the boot parameters fixes it. I'm posting this so anyone else with this problem can find it on a search.

I spoke too soon. It still wouldn't assign the interrupts the right way every time. I'm now using acpi=off irqpoll.
