linpus lite 3
I have just acquired an Acer Aspire one netbook, which did not come with a rescue disk. Have contacted Acer support and they can sell me a rescue disk for £51!! Does anyone have one that they can copy for me, please? I will obviously pay for the disc and postage etc.

Linpus is a crippled distro. Do the below for free.
Crunchbang
You can make a linux live usb with Unetbootin
Another one you can run is This. Ubuntu 10.04 Netbook runs out of the box on my Acer aspire One ZG5. You'll want the x86 version.
Another that runs good on mine is Fluppy
If wanting to use Arch Linux.
So there are a lot of current choices out there for free instead of paying 51 pounds (I am a Texan so guessing here)Linux Registered User # 475019

Visit distrowatch.com, and download one of their hundreds of available free distros. Most can e run as a live cd to see how you like them before installing.

Thanks for the replies - they are much appreciated as a complete novice to Linux.
