Asus a43s
Hello every one,
I seeking a new laptop to buy it next week and I am considering the asus a43s but I could not find any reviews regarding running linux on it and I want your opinions about it. I am afraid it will give some issues because of the dual graph ics cards it has although Windows list only the nVidia ant not the integrated intel one, so intel card does not seem to exist.
Also ASUS and amazon sites do not list this laptop may be it's only in the middle east.
Laptop Specification:
- intel i7 2630QM proccessor
- nVidia GT540M 2GB video card
- 4GB ram
Do you think it will run linux perfectly? Or should I buy MacBook Pro 13" i5 since it's what I considered first before I see this asus laptop.
For what's it worth I am in Saudi Arabia.
Thank you in advance.Last edited by amaj1407; 04-20-2011 at 08:28 AM. Reason: deleted some words

It should run Linux just fine. However, I STRONGLY recommend removing the open source Nouveau nVidia drivers that Linux will use by default (newer distributions anyway), and install the proprietary nVidia drivers instead.
Sometimes, real fast is almost as good as real time.
