We have 2 Toshiba N210s, NB205 and NB325. Both have the same problem with distros as delivered: disk activity during boot will not proceed unless a key is pressed. I use a Control key since it registers a keypress but does not enter any data. It is not consistent, and can also happen when starting a shell in a terminal window.

Distros include Ubuntu and variants, Mandriva, Fedora, and a few others.

I suspect it is interrupt related.

I have Gentoo with a custom kernel on the NB205 and there is no problem. Unfortunately I've made so many changes to .config that it's hard to find which one(s) fixed the problem.

Any clues?

TIA
Jim
