Change touchpad sample/polling rate: is it possible?

Hi. I'm trying to adjust the sample (or polling) rate of the FocalTech PS/2 touchpad on my UX303LB. I have tryed with many synclient parameters and also modifying the X11 config file with no luck at all.

On google I just see how to change the rate of USB mouses but nothing about touchpads.

The reason is that the touchpad is very inacurate, it's really hard to get the pointer over very small elements, and if I drag my finger in circles over the touchpad the pointer will move not in circles but in squares, is really bad.

    Thanks in advance!

Since this is a PS/2 touchpad my guess is that these are kernel-level controls. There may be ioctls that you can call to change these parameters but I don't know off-hand what they are. I wrote the original PC touch tablet curve smoothing algorithms back in 1984 but I don't think they are in use today.
